MHM Presents: Beat Star

Mcdonalds' Happy Meal presents: Beat Star, for the month of September (actually it is already October) 2009.

There are 6 toys for this month. The toys are mini replicas of some musical instruments like guitar, keyboard, saxophone, drums, microphone and an electric guitar. And even though they are just toys, they actually sounds like their original instrument. They are cool and hi-tech toys.


Each toy has stickers included, for you to apply to make it more realistic. Just follow the instructions found at the back of the stickers. Just switch ON the toys (at the back) and play it.

• KEYBOARD

A blue keyboard that has awesome and cool design. The piano keys are divided into 2 buttons (left and right), the left plays a single tone while the right side can play a tune if press it 8 times consecutively.

The speakers are in the bottom of the toy so you can not lie it down and play it or else the sound will be too low in volume (though it has little four legs).

• MICROPHONE

It is a cool microphone where you can use it while singing but do not totally works. The feature of this toy is that, while you are talking/singing the head of microphone will flicker or flash.

Actually even you are not singing the microphone will light just by tapping or moving it. It has a motion sensor that when you sing, the wind of your breath activates the sensor.

• DRUMS

A red drum that has 2 sticker sticks. Again it has a motion sensor that triggers the sound effects. Just TAP it in any part of the toy and you will hear a drumming sound.

Again the speaker is at the back of the toy.

• SAXOPHONE

A yellow saxophone, this toy has a cool feature. Just blow (just BLOW, do not put it in your mouth or else the sound fx will not work) the tip of the instrument and a sound fx will be activated. Keep blowing and a tune will be heard (pap para pap pap love ko to - Filipino version).

And again, a motion sensor activating toy. So just tap it anywhere to hear the sound fx.

• ELECTRIC GUITAR

A pink electric guitar. The sound fx will be activated if you press down the yellow button (looks like a banana). Nice, like you are playing a real guitar.

• GUITAR

This is my favorite toy of all. A yellow guitar that has flames on it. This is a cool toy. It has a light sensor that will activate the sounds. Just play it under the sun or in bright room, face the little glass circle to the sun/light and play it like a real guitar with your finger.

The sensor will activate if finger blocks the light coming from the sun/light. Though you can not play it in a dark room but there is a button beside the sensor, just press it to hear the sound even in dark places.

• I like these instruments because they use the technology, to activate and play them. Not just simple buttons that you press and that's it. I also like the color and details of each instrument. Children will enjoy these toys, they will feel that they are real part of a band and feel that they are playing the real instruments.
